Expectations

  1. Session registration is a separate fee from all tournaments.

  2. JO athletes begin training from the winter session and compete in about 6-8 tournaments.

  3. Our official USA WP Junior Olympic rosters will be named within five business days following the conclusion of the JO Qualifying Tournament.  The Junior Olympics Tournament fee must be paid prior to June 15th (1 month in advance).

  4. We want to encourage character and community, so we expect good practice and competition attendance to be considered for a roster.

  5. The tournament and session participation fee is exclusive of any additional expenses for parent hotel rooms, food, etc.  All athletes that stay in team rooms will share the cost of that room.

  6. Athletes must be registered in the Elite Water Polo Program and USA water polo.

  7. Athletes must be registered with USA WP as Gold Athletes (Club #1396) prior to May 15th (3 weeks prior to quals).

  8. Athletes must complete the Date of Birth verification on the USA Water Polo website.

  9. Athletes must attend the SOPAC Zone Junior Olympic Qualifying Tournament.  (dates/sites posted on the calendar)

  10. A maximum of 15 athletes per team may be named to a Water Polo USA WP National Junior Olympics roster.

  11. Playing time is NOT guaranteed.

Age Group Determination

  • Your age division is assigned based on your age on August 1st.

  • e.g. If a player is 14 years old on August 1st, that player is eligible to compete in the 14U division.  If the athlete turns 15 on July 31st, that athlete is 15 on August 1st and is not eligible to compete in the 14U division.  The athlete, of course, is eligible to compete in the 16U division.
